We are Sonia e Daniele, nipoti di Eduardo Patti, conosciuto in famiglia come "Ziu Edo".
Ziu Edo was an extraordinary man, with a free spirit and an unstoppable passion for travel. A sales executive at IBM during its golden years, he had the privilege of traveling the world, collecting objects, stories and memories that still fill this home with charm and authenticity.
Every corner of the Dimora holds his souvenirs — silent witnesses to a life lived in the spirit of discovery and encounters with different cultures.

Deep roots in the history of Palermo
On April 4, 1860, anti-Bourbon rebels rose up against the king’s rule. The uprising, which began in the broom-makers’ district, was quickly and brutally suppressed. Filippo Patti, along with Gaspare Bivona, was one of the leaders of the revolt. After the failed insurrection, they sought refuge in the crypt of the Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli, better known as La Gancia.
Hunted and without food for five days, they managed to escape thanks to a group of local women who, with a clever distraction, diverted the attention of the Bourbon guards.
The two men fled through a breach in the crypt wall, now known as the “Hole of Salvation” (“Buca della Salvezza”), a powerful symbol of resistance still visible today on Via Alloro.
This episode serves as a reminder of the strength of community and solidarity—hallmarks of the Palermitan spirit.
